Michigan running back Blake Corum made an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America Wednesday morning to discuss his recent efforts to give back to the community.

Over the weekend, Corum was out in two Michigan communities to provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need. In total, 100 meals were handed out.

During his appearance on GMA, Corum was asked by Michael Strahan about his inspiration for the efforts. Corum said he’s always had a desire to give back, but he previously had to find other ways to give back since he did not have much money:

“Growing up, I’ve always wanted to give back. My parents always told me believe in God, God always gave, so give back,” explained Corum. “When I was young, I wasn’t able to give back because I didn’t have money, but I gave back by holding football camps and things like that. But now since the NCAA has allowed us to use our NIL, I’ve been able to accumulate a little bit of money, and I just wanted to help the community out and give them some good thanksgiving meals.”

Corum also said he has a desire to help young people chase their dreams and realize their potential:

“I really love the youth, and I feel like a lot of the youth…they just need someone to inspire them just a little bit…I just really want to help the youth chase their dreams, whatever I can do,” Corum said.

Fans should also expect to see more of Corum’s efforts in the future. He indicated plans to do a Christmas giveaway and other events throughout the year, further explaining that giving back is his purpose.

Well done, and much respect to the young star.
