Urban Meyer didn’t wait long.

Reports surfaced early on Tuesday morning that Ohio State co-offensive cooridnator and quarterbacks coach Tim Beck was leaving Columbus to join Tom Herman’s staff at Texas.

Just hours later, Meyer reportedly has his replacement.

According to Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman, the Buckeyes are expected to bring NFL assistant Ryan Day on board:

Day spent the last two years as a quarterbacks coach on Chip Kelly’s staff as his quarterbacks coach, first in Philadelphia and then in San Francisco. But the previous 13 years, he was a college assistant.

He had two different stints with Temple and Boston College, both of which he worked as an offensive coordinator. Day was a critical cog in developing BC running back Andre Williams into the FBS leading rusher a and Heisman Trophy finalist.

Day also spent time on Meyer’s staff at Florida in 2005 as a graduate assistant.

UPDATE: Ohio State confirmed Feldman’s report of Day’s hiring. In a release, the team said he would replace Beck who is “pursuing other opportunities.”

The release didn’t, however, mention anything about him taking the coordinator position. As of now, that’s still open.
