Minnesota is riding high after the rivalry win, and the Gophers are making sure to get some shots in at Wisconsin in the process.

In the Battle for Paul Bunyan’s Axe, it was the Gopher defense that took center stage. A clutch – and ridiculous – interception by Justin Walley swung the momentum in the third quarter while Minnesota completely stifled Wisconsin’s rushing attack. Badgers star Braelon Allen was held under 50 yards rushing during the upset win.

As Minnesota rushed to grab the Axe after the win, fans stormed the field. It was a beautiful scene for the Gophers while the stadium hit play on an iconic song. That song was “Jump Around,” which Wisconsin uses during every game inside Camp Randall Stadium.

Minnesota fans celebrated accordingly:

The upset gives Minnesota 8 wins on the year while keeping the Badgers out of a trip to the B1G Championship Game.
