What Jim Harbaugh said as Michigan prepares for B1G Championship Game
For the first time in program history, Michigan is heading to the B1G Championship Game. After an 11-1 season, which included a decisive victory over Ohio State, the Wolverines locked up a trip to Indianapolis.
Thanks to that big win, Michigan has a chance to claim a conference title and punch its ticket to the College Football Playoff with a victory over Iowa on Saturday.
On Monday, Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh met with reporters to talk about Saturday’s win over Ohio State and preview the upcoming B1G Championship Game showdown against Iowa.
Here’s what Harbaugh had to said while speaking with the media:
Jim Harbaugh on how team can learn from its preparation vs. OSU moving forward: “Mentally, physically, spiritually, in every way, that’s the way we have to prepare for Iowa. … Going forward, that’s the level we have to prepare for.”

Harbaugh on Aidan Hutchinson: “If there’s a better player out there that’s draft-eligible than Aidan Hutchinson, I have yet to see them. … You’ve gotta check every single box on and off the field.”

Harbaugh said today he’s made hires before that have exceeded his expectations. Sherrone Moore is an example. Kind of. But not really.
Because Harbaugh says he expected this when he hired Moore. Had a feeling. Expected it when he promoted him this winter. ‘A shining star.’

Jim Harbaugh: “Sherrone Moore is a shining star. … I figured that one would work out really well. I can say this about a lot of our coaching hires, but it’s worked out better than expected. And we had high expectations.”

Jim Harbaugh: “If there is a better player that’s draft eligible than Aidan Hutchinson, I haven’t seen him.”
