Kirk Ferentz reveals Iowa’s starting QB for B1G Championship Game

It hasn’t been an easy ride for Iowa to make to the B1G title game.
The quarterback has been a topic of discussion ever since Spencer Petras had a shoulder against Northwestern in Week 10. Alex Padilla came in and managed the game well enough to secure the win for the Hawkeyes.
There was even some quarterback controversy in the Nebraska game recently. Padilla ended up starting the game, but was eventually pulled after a poor start after going 6-14 for 76 yards passing. Petras then came in and scored the touchdown that would give the Hawkeyes the win late in the 4th quarter. Petras finished the game with 102 yards passing, 4 yards rushing and 1 touchdown on the ground.
Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz put the rumors to rest by confirming who the starter will be for the Michigan game on Saturday in a recent press conference per On Iowa Sports’ John Steppe.
Spencer Petras will start at QB, Kirk Ferentz said.
Terry Roberts has been “pretty functional” in practice and could be available on Saturday.

It’ll be interesting to see what happens if Petras has a rough start to the game like Padilla had against Nebraska.
No. 5 Michigan (11-1) and No. 16 Iowa (10-2) meet at Lucas Oil Stadium Saturday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
