Michigan K Jake Moody named winner of Lou Groza Award

Michigan kicker Jake Moody has been named the nation’s best at his position.
Thursday night, Moody was named the winner of the Lou Groza Award, presented to the top kicker in college football. He became the first kicker in the B1G to claim the honor since Maryland’s Brad Craddock was named the recipient in 2014.
Moody is the first kicker in Michigan history to win the award.

This season, Moody was successful on 22-of-24 field goal attempts during the Wolverines’ B1G championship run. He converted on a long of 52 yards and was successful on all 56 PAT attempts in 2021.
Moody was credited with 122 points.
Michigan finished the 2021 season with a 12-1 record and claimed its first victory in a B1G Championship Game, defeating Iowa 42-3. The Wolverines clinched a spot in the College Football Playoff and will play Georgia in the Orange Bowl.
