Mike Leach critical of players opting out of bowl games

As we are on the cusp of beginning bowl season, a lot of players are starting to opt-out of playing in their bowl games. It’s become a trend across college football over the past few seasons.
Several big-name players are opting not to play in their last game and save themselves for the NFL Draft.
One head coach who doesn’t seem to agree with this is Mississippi State head coach Mike Leach who shared his thoughts on this.
Mike Leach told reporters today his thoughts on players opting out of bowl games: "They think they're gonna have a storied, 10-year NFL career. Then they can't play one more college game. Well, that's ridiculous… It's one of the biggest absurdities that I've seen."

“They think they’re gonna have a storied, 10-year NFL career. Then they can’t play one more college game. Well, that’s ridiculous… It’s one of the biggest absurdities that I’ve seen,” Leach said, per the Clarion Ledger. “You owe it to your team, you owe it to your fans, you owe it to your coaches and it’s the most bizarre thing in the world to me.”
That’s probably not going to go over well with many.
Several players — particularly those with high draft status — opt out in order to avoid injury and hurting their draft stock. It’s an understandable move, given the amount of money that could be on the line.
Clearly, Leach isn’t a fan of that train of thought.
