CJ Stroud’s success during the 2021 season was well documented. The first-year starting quarterback at Ohio State was the B1G QB of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and a Heisman Trophy finalist.

There were many aspects of his game that wowed fans across the country during his first season running an offense. Effectively throwing the deep ball was one of his best attributes.

According to Pro Football Focus (PFF), Stroud was the most accurate deep passer in college football. He ended the year with a 55% success rate when launching the ball down the field.

Stroud ended the season with 3,862 yards and 38 touchdowns through the air while completing just under 71% of his passes. He played in 11 games for the Buckeyes, sitting out of the Akron contest because of a shoulder injury.

In the 4 games after the Akron contest, Stroud was nearly unstoppable. He threw for 1,307 yards and 15 touchdowns without a single pick. The quarterback completed 72% of his passes in 3 of those 4 contests.

Stroud also ended the year playing well, throwing for 361 yards and 5 touchdowns in a win over Purdue and 432 yards and 6 touchdowns in a victory over Michigan State.

Stroud and the Buckeyes are back in action on Jan. 1, playing Utah in the Rose Bowl.
