Minnesota is playing West Virginia Tuesday night in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl at Chase Field in Phoenix, AZ. There is now an injury update along the Golden Gophers OL.

Center John Michael Schmitz left the game in the 2nd quarter due to a left foot injury. There has been no indication if he will return to the game or not.

Schmitz, earlier this season, has said he will be returning to the Gophers program for a sixth season. The Gophers this season are 8-4 and 6-3 in B1G play. The Gophers were just shy of winning the B1G West and going to the B1G Championship Game. The Mountaineers finished the season 6-6, 4-5 in the Big 12 and 6th in the Big 12 standings.

Minnesota head coach P.J. Fleck is 2-0 in bowl games 5 years into his time with the program. The Gophers are leading the Mountaineers 15-6 in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl at the half.

You can watch the entire second half on ESPN.
