Maryland’s offense has been unstoppable throughout the Pinstripe Bowl. In the third quarter, the Terrapins started pouring it on Virginia Tech.
Leading 27-10 midway through the third quarter, Maryland was facing a 4th-and-4 from the Virginia Tech 32-yard line. Rather than kick a long field goal or send the punt team onto the field, Mike Locksley elected to keep the offense on the field.
The decision paid off in a big way.
Taulia Tagovailoa connected with Darryl Jones for a 32-yard touchdown to give the Terrapins a 34-10 advantage. It was the second time Tagovailoa connecvted with Jones for a touchdown in the game. The first was a 70-yard bomb.
