Michigan State is losing a key piece from its offensive line for 2022.

Saturday evening, Kevin Jarvis announced on Twitter that he was foregoing the extra year of eligibility provided to players due to COVID. Jarvis was a member of the 2017 recruiting class and is a long-time starter for the Spartans.

“I would like to start off by saying thank you to Coach Tucker and his staff for the opportunity to play football at Michigan State University,” wrote Jarvis. “It was truly an honor to be around the great group of people that are in East Lansing.

“With that being said, I’m forgoing my final year of eligibility and declaring for the NFL Draft.”

Jarvis made an immediate impact with the Spartans, starting 10 games as a true freshman in 2017. He was the starting left tackle for Michigan State to begin 2019 before suffering a season-ending injury. Jarvis started every game over 2020-21 with appearances at right tackle and right guard.

Best of luck to Jarvis as he makes the move to the NFL.
