Wasting no time: Penn State quickly hires new special teams coordinator

Penn State has filled its special teams coordinator position with lightning-quick speed. The Nittany Lions had just lost their former special teams coordinator Joe Lorig to Oregon.

Penn State has hired Stacy Collins as its new special teams coordinator. Previously Collins was coaching Boise State in the same role. Collins has spent most of his coaching career out west, it could be a transition to coaching on the east coast.

Penn State has had two staff members leave within 24 hours. Joe Lorig has moved onto Eugene to coach the Ducks in the same role. Michael Hazel is now the assistant athletic director and chief of staff of the Hokies football program. They have also lost DC Brent Pry to Virginia Tech as he accepted to become the Hokies new head coach.

Head coach James Franklin has already started to find replacements fast for his coaching staff as they will need to be better in the 2022 season. Penn State finished the season 7-6 and 4-5 in B1G play. Penn State ended its season with an Outback Bowl loss to No. 21 Arkansas 24-10.
