With National Signing Day less than two weeks away, Michigan is closing in on a top-five recruiting class.

With that comes some late additions and subtractions. On Sunday, Michigan fell victim to the latter.

The Wolverines lost a commitment from four-star offensive lineman Kai-Leon Herbert, according to 247sports.

Herbert is the No. 28 offensive tackle and the No. 255 player overall in the 2017 class (247sports composite).

The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native has been rumored to be a “soft” Michigan commit for several months. That was confirmed with him scheduling three official visits to other schools in the final three weekends before National Signing Day.

Michigan still has 26 commitments in its 2017 class, five of which are offensive linemen. The Wolverines were hoping to flip Penn State commit C.J. Thorpe, but he tweeted his PSU commitment was strong on Sunday.

The Wolverines are ranked No. 2 in the B1G and No. 4 overall in the 2017 class rankings (247sports).
