One member of the Hawkeye o-line is moving on from Iowa City and entering the 2022 NFL Draft.

That player is Kyler Schott, an in-state member of Iowa’s 2017 recruiting class that began his career as a walk-on. He earned his scholarship with the Hawkeyes during the spring of 2020 and was tabbed as Iowa’s starting right guard to open the 2021 season.

Friday morning, Schott announced that he would be passing on the additional year of eligibility provided by the NCAA for 2020 and is instead entering the draft.

“First, I want to say thank you to all of Hawkeye Nation for the support these last five years,” wrote Schott. “Growing up a Hawkeye fan, it was always a dream of mine to play in the black and gold!

“With that said, I’m excited to say I’ll be entering the 2022 NFL Draft to pursue another dream of mine! Thank you and go Hawks!”
