Georgia linebacker Nakobe Dean is going to catch some heat for what happened after Monday night’s national championship bout against Alabama. Fortunately, it will all be in good fun.
After the Bulldogs posted a 33-18 win over the Crimson Tide to claim their first national title since 1980, championship merchandise was passed around to the players and coaches, as is customary after the final game of the season.
The problem? Dean was spotted wearing a hat with the wrong hate. The linebacker mistakenly put on a hat with the Alabama logo instead of Georgia’s.
As you might imagine, it caught plenty of attention on social media:

After winning such an emotional game and taking home college football’s top prize, the first thought for a player isn’t to examine the merch. Dean would’ve expected to be handed the right hat on the field.
It was a funny ending to an incredibly entertaining game in Indianapolis. Dean will probably catch a little heat from his teammates and coaches, too.
When you’re the national champion, who really cares?
