A flurry of Alabama football players entered their names into the NCAA transfer portal a day after the season came to an end.

On Monday night, the Crimson Tide fell one victory short of claiming another national title. Alabama lost 33-18 to Georgia in the College Football Playoff National Championship, ending the year with a 13-2 record.

Tuesday, seven players decided to enter their names into the portal and explore their options outside of Tuscaloosa. Here are the players searching for a new home:

  • TE Jahleel Billingsley
  • LB Drew Sanders
  • QB Paul Tyson
  • OL Tommy Brown
  • LB King Mwikuta
  • WR DJ Rias
  • CB Brylan Lanier

Billingsley totaled 35 catches for 543 yards and 6 touchdowns over the past 2 seasons at the tight end position for the Crimson Tide. Sanders was also a big contributor, tallying 24 tackles, 4 quarterback hurries and 2 pass break-ups this season.

Brown started in 1 game for Alabama along the offensive line. Tyson is the great grandson of legendary Alabama head coach Paul “Bear” Bryant.

There will be plenty of suitors for the multiple Alabama players who entered the transfer portal on Tuesday. Several should be able to make quick impacts for the future programs, as well.
