Michigan was supposed to soundly beat Appalachian State. Sports books didn’t even offer a betting line for the matchup because of how one-sided it was perceived to be. The Wolverines entered the season as the nation’s No. 5 overall team as ranked by the AP Top 25, while Appalachian State was ranked the No. 1 team in the FCS.
Then, the unthinkable happened. Mountaineers quarterback Armanti Edwards finished with 4 total touchdowns to help lead the Mountaineers to victory. The last-second field goal block by the Mountaineers will live on in college football history.
