Honas began his college football career 6 seasons ago. He started his career at the JUCO level, playing the 2016 and ’17 seasons at Butler Community College. He then transferred to Nebraska ahead of the 2018 season. Honas played 4 games for the Huskers in 2018, taking a redshirt. He played in 19 games over the 2019 and ’20 seasons but missed the 2021 campaign due to injury.
Honas played in every Nebraska game as a junior but did not make his first career start until the 2020 season-opener. In 2020, he started all 7 games, leading the Huskers with 6.5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks, totaling 57 tackles (second on the team). He received an All-B1G honorable mention for the 2020 season.
Honas, a Wichita native, returns to his home state.
