Ohio State is getting freshman guard Meechie Johnson back from a 3-game absence for Thursday’s showdown vs. Minnesota.
Originally injured during a Jan. 9 win over Northwestern, Johnson has been recovering from a facial fracture and concussion. The Buckeyes went 2-1 without Johnson in the lineup.
Johnson announced his return via Twitter, and it looks like he’ll be wearing a protective mask in his return to the floor:

Johnson is averaging 6.6 points per game this season with 1.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists. He is also a key weapon from 3-point range while shooting 40% from deep this season.
At 5-2, the Buckeyes are still competing for top spot in the B1G. A win against the Gophers would draw Ohio State into a tie with Michigan State for second place in the conference. Illinois and Wisconsin are tied atop the B1G at 7-2.
Thursday’s tip-off is set for 8 pm EST on ESPN.
