Nebraska flips skilled RB from TCU on National Signing Day

Some fireworks shot off in Lincoln on National Signing Day. Nebraska was able to flip skilled running back Ajay Allen from TCU, giving the Huskers more depth in the backfield for the 2022 season.

Allen made the announcement on his Instagram account on Wednesday morning. He had been committed to the Horned Frogs since August, but the coaching change likely played a role in his decision to flip to the Huskers.

Per 247Sports, Allen is listed just outside the Top 500 prospects in the 2022 recruiting class, coming in at No. 501. The Monroe, Louisiana native is also ranked as the No. 40 running back of the cycle.

Allen picks Nebraska over TCU, Mississippi State, New Mexico State, Southern Miss and Louisiana Tech at the FBS level. He becomes the 17th player of the 2022 class to commit to Scott Frost and his staff.
