Ayo Dosunmu is having an outstanding rookie season with the Chicago Bulls. The second-round pick has already exceeded expectations and is making a significant impact for one of the NBA’s top teams right now.

Dosunmu was brilliant again in Chicago’s 134-122 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. The former Illinois star posted a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists in the win. He was also credited with 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

Per ESPN’s Stats & Info, Friday night’s performance marked the fourth time this season Dosunmu has hit the 10-assist mark in a game. That’s the most by any Bulls rookie since Derrick Rose, who accomplished the feat in 2009.

Joining the company of a former league MVP is a pretty good way to start a career in the NBA.

Dosunmu is averaging 7.9 points, 2.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game this season with the Bulls. Chicago is 35-21 after the win over Minnesota on Friday night, one game out of first place in the Eastern Conference.

After getting off to such a strong start in his rookie season, there are probably some teams across the league wishing they wouldn’t have slept on Dosunmu.
