Joe Burrow shouts out Athens High School with Super Bowl introduction

Joe Burrow enters Sunday’s Super Bowl in just his second NFL season after a dramatic college career.
Burrow has ties to both Ohio State and LSU from his time in college, starting off with the Buckeyes before transferring to the Tigers. A crowded QB room and ill-timed injury in Columbus were among the factors leading to Burrow’s departure to Baton Rouge.
Despite his ties to both programs, Burrow opted to go a different route during his video introduction for the Super Bowl. Instead, he went all the way back to his time in high school.
“Joe Burrow, Athens High School,” said the star QB for the Cincinnati Bengals.

Burrow starred for Athens High School before beginning his college career with the Buckeyes. He was a 4-star prospect and the No. 8 dual-threat QB nationally via the 2015 recruiting class.
Now, he’s trying to become the first QB to land football’s “Triple Crown” of the Heisman Trophy, a national championship, and a Super Bowl. And Burrow gets to do so while suiting up for another team out of Ohio.
