Deion Sanders revealed some details of the reasons why Daylen Baldwin transferred to Michigan before last season.

The Jackson State coach offered his perspective on the transfer a few weeks after Baldwin ended his college career, and declared for the NFL Draft. The 6-foot-2, 219-pound Baldwin split his college career at Morgan State, Jackson State, and Michigan.

Baldwin, a Southfield, Michigan native, made 17 catches for 256 yards and 2 touchdowns this season at Michigan. For his career, Baldwin tallied 56 receptions, 928 yards, and 10 touchdowns. At Michigan, he appeared in 14 games with 5 starts at wide receiver for the Wolverines.

At Jackson State and Morgan State, Baldwin appeared in 28 career games (22 at Morgan State, 6 at Jackson State). He made a total of 57 receptions for 873 yards with 9 touchdowns in his career. Sanders was a guest on the No. 1 Ranked Show with R.J. Young.

“Daylen told us after the spring that he wanted to turn pro after the fall season,” Sanders said on the No. 1 Ranked Show with R.J. Young. “We said cool. So business wise, we cut his full scholarship to half because he didn’t need a full because he wasn’t going to be there past December. He didn’t understand the logic of that and got sensitive.”
