After calling a handful of games this season, Vitale stepped away from the microphone to focus on his health. He has stated that he will not be returning to call any basketball games this season.
In October, Vitale revealed that he was diagnosed with lymphoma. In December, he announced his decision to take a break from broadcasting because he was suffering from Dysplasia on the vocal cords.
We all wish Vitale well in his recovery.
