Sad news to pass on this afternoon: Former IU wide receiver Damarlo Belcher was found dead Tuesday in Fort Wayne. Belcher played for the Hoosiers from 2008-11, and ended his career second all-time in program history in receptions. Reporting from me and @DustinDopirak. #iufb

Belcher joined Indiana in 2008. In October 2011, then-head coach Kevin Wilson dismissed Belcher from the team for violating team rules. Belcher finished his Hoosier career with 189 catches, just 3 receptions behind James Hardy’s all-time career mark. Belcher had 2,225 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in 4 seasons.
Osterman adds that there is a pending investigation into the cause of death.
Per the Allen County coroner's office, an investigation into the cause and manner of Belcher's death is still pending. #iufb
