Tennessee State head coach Eddie George will reportedly be hiring a former Ohio State offensive lineman and team captain to add to his staff for the upcoming season. ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported the news on Wednesday.
Michael Brewster, who has been a quality control coach for the Cincinnati Bengals, is expected to join the staff at Tennessee State as a tight ends coach. He has spent the last two seasons working in the NFL.

Brewster played at Ohio State from 2008-11 and went on to have a 4-year career in the NFL. He had stops with the Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints.
At Ohio State, Brewster was a Freshman All-American in 2008 and proceeded to rake in accolades as a first-team All-B1G selection in 2010 and was a second-team pick in 2011.
Prior to his stop with the Bengals as a quality control coach, Brewster spent two seasons as a graduate assistant. He started at Western Michigan in 2018 and moved to Bowling Green in 2019.
Tennessee State finished the 2021 season with a 5-6 record.
