Caitlin Clark is accomplishing things that no other collegiate basketball player at the Division I level has done in at least 20 years. The Iowa star is only a sophomore, too.

Clark scored 32 points in Iowa’s 87-78 victory over Rutgers on Thursday, giving her more than 1,500 career points in less than 2 seasons. That, alone, is an impressive feat.

What’s even more impressive? Clark has hit the 1,500-point total in just 56 career games. She is the fastest Division I basketball player — men’s or women’s — to reach that plateau, according to ESPN Stats and Info.

In nearly two full seasons, Clark is averaging 26.9 points per game with the Hawkeyes. This season, Clark is posting a 27.1 points per game average to go along with 8.2 assists and 8 rebounds per contest. She’s also averaging 1.5 steals per game.

Along with her 32 points against Rutgers, she also grabbed 9 rebounds, dished out 9 assists and collected 5 steals.

Clark has scored in double figures every game this season, posting a season-high 46 in a loss against Michigan. She has eclipsed the 40-point mark three times and has scored 30 points in nine contests.

Because of Clark’s contributions, Iowa is 19-7 on the season with a 13-4 mark in B1G play. The Hawkeyes are ranked No. 21 in the Associated Press Poll. Clark and the Hawkeyes play No. 6 Michigan to close out the regular season.
