Tom Allen announced Thursday that an outside linebacker is no longer on Indiana’s roster. Outside linebacker Jaren Handy has been dismissed from the team.
Allen indicated it wasn’t just a single incident that led to parting with Handy, per Zach Osterman of The Indianapolis Star:
Handy was one of only three players on IU’s defense last season to post double-digit pressures (11). The other two have also moved on, Micah McFadden to the draft and Ryder Anderson due to graduation. That’s a loss for Indiana. #iufb

“Series of incidents” led to Handy’s dismissal per Tom Allen.
“I would say it was more of a collective. It wasn’t just one thing.” #iufb

Handy joined the Hoosiers in 2021 after 2 seasons at Auburn (2019-20). Handy played in 9 games this past season before suffering a season-ending injury. He recorded 19 tackles, including a career-high 7 at Maryland.
