Maryland’s Chigoziem Okonkwo posts best 40-yard dash time at TE position during NFL Combine

Maryland tight end Chigoziem Okonkwo is looking to boost his stock for the NFL Draft during the Combine in Indianapolis. On Thursday, Okonkwo had his turn at the 40-yard dash.
Okonkwo ran twice, coming in under 4.55 both times. His 2nd time was the faster of the two, clocking in at 4.52.

The 4.52 time also proved to be the fastest time turned in by a tight end on Thursday. In fact, Okonkwo’s time was nearly a full second better than Virginia’s Jelani Woods.

After checking in at 6-foot-2 and 242 lbs. with such a fast time, Okonkwo will be an interesting TE prospect to watch heading toward April’s draft. He is definitely building an intriguing value after Thursday’s performance.
