Minnesota’s Daniel Faalele weighs in as heaviest player at NFL Combine in nearly 20 years

All Daniel Faalele had to do in order to make history at the NFL Combine was step on a scale. The former Minnesota offensive lineman will go down as one of the biggest players ever to participate in the event.
Faalele weighed in at 384 pounds and measured 6-foot-8 at this year’s combine. Per NFL Research, he is the heaviest player at any combine since 2003 and could be the second-heaviest player in NFL history, behind Char-ron Dorsey. He weighed in at 388 pounds.

Minnesota used Faalele’s size to its advantage, especially in the rushing attack. Though he was relatively new to football when he arrived in the Twin Cities, he still brought an intimidating frame to campus.
Once Faalele cracked the lineup for the Gophers, he was an anchor along the offensive line. He competed in 34 career games and made 31 starts. Faalele decided to forgo his remaining eligibility to pursue a career in the NFL.
Faalele is looking to bump up his draft stock during the NFL Combine this week. He was also a participant in the 2022 Senior Bowl.
