Looking back at paths to the B1G Tournament championship for Iowa, Purdue

It’s been a fun week in Indianapolis.

The B1G Tournament started on Wednesday and will come to a close on Sunday. Shortly after the championship game between Purdue and Iowa, teams from the league will learn their fate, as the Selection Show will reveal the 68-team field for the NCAA Tournament.

Before the Hawkeyes and Boilermakers tip off for a chance to claim a B1G Tournament title, let’s take a quick look back at how both teams reached this point:

Iowa Hawkeyes (#5 seed: 25-9, 12-8 B1G)

  • Round 1: BYE
  • Round 2: Defeated #12 Northwestern: 112-76
  • Quarterfinals: Defeated #4 Rutgers: 84-74
  • Semifinals: Defeated #9 Indiana: 80-77

Purdue Boilermakers (#3 seed: 27-6, 14-6 B1G)

  • Round 1: BYE
  • Round 2: BYE
  • Quarterfinals: Defeated #11 Penn State: 69-61
  • Semifinals: Defeated #7 Michigan State: 75-70

Tip-off for Sunday’s B1G Tournament championship is 3:30 p.m. ET. The game will air on CBS.
