Andrew Norwell, an 8-year NFL veteran who has played with the Carolina Panthers and Jacksonville Jaguars, has reportedly landed with a new team.
Norwell, a former Ohio State lineman, is expected to sign with the Washington Commanders to help them fill a big void on the offensive line, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reported. Entering his ninth season in the NFL, Norwell becomes the fourth former Ohio State player on the Commanders’ current roster, joining Terry McLaurin, Chase Young and Curtis Samuel.
Norwell has started 111 of the 112 games he’s played in since entering the league in 2014. Most of those starts came at left guard.
Norwell started his career with the Panthers, playing under head coach Ron Rivera. The undrafted free agent spent the first 4 seasons of his career in Carolina, captured an All-Pro selection in 2017, and then left for Jacksonville on a five-year, $66.5 million contract, NBC-4 in Washington reported.
