Ezekiel Elliott was back at his old stomping grounds on Friday night.

And according to TMZ, the former Buckeye star had his night “abruptly interrupted” when he was detained by police outside of The Social bar in Columbus.

Elliott was later let go after four minutes. TMZ reported that the reason for police stopping Elliott was unknown.

Elliott, however, took to social media to refute the story that he was”detained or questioned” by police.

Columbus police didn’t respond to requests from TMZ about Elliott’s involvement.

It could’ve been a misunderstanding on all accounts. If Elliott was let go after four minutes, surely he wasn’t in any kind of serious trouble.

Elliott is still the subject of an NFL investigation into a domestic violence allegation brought against him last summer. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said that there was “no timetable” for a resolution on the investigation.

The NFL’s leading rusher remains adamant of his innocence in that, as well as whatever happened or didn’t happen on Friday night.
