Master Teague posts impressive performance during Ohio State’s Pro Day

Master Teague had to wait until Ohio State’s Pro Day to put his workouts on display for NFL teams. On Wednesday, he turned in a solid performance to help boost his draft stock.

From start to finish, Teague put up measurables that rivaled the numbers produced by many prospects during the NFL Combine in Indianapolis. Most notably, Teague ran a 4.44 time in the 40-yard dash after weighing in at 5-foot-11 and 221 lbs.

Teague’s 27 reps on the bench press would have tied Michigan’s Hassan Haskins for the top mark by a running back at the Combine. Teague’s 10’11” broad jump would have been the best mark at the Combine for the position, surpassing a 10’8″ mark by multiple players.

Teague’s 36″ jump would have also tied for 5th in the RB group at the Combine while his 40-yard dash time is a favorable one. Head coach Ryan Day shared the full results from Teague’s performance.

Teague entered Ohio State with strong expectations and served as a backup to J.K. Dobbins for two seasons. Unfortunately, Teague was surpassed by TreVeyon Henderson for the starter’s role in 2021. He still managed to finish his Buckeye career with 1,764 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Now, Teague will hope to hear his name called during April’s draft. He certainly did enough on Wednesday to help his case.
