2 B1G programs among teams to check in on LSU guard via transfer portal

A former 4-star prospect is in the transfer portal after a strong freshman season in the SEC.
The player is Brandon Murray, a 4-star prospect and top-100 recruit nationally from the class of 2021. He started his career at LSU during the 2021-22 season.
As a freshman, Murray started 32 games for the Tigers. He finished third on the team in scoring while averaging 10 points per game and added 3 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals for LSU.
After bowing out of the NCAA Tournament with a loss to Iowa State, Murray has entered the transfer portal. He has heard from a number of teams, including Illinois and Maryland out of the B1G, per Adam Finkelstein with ESPN. Auburn, Tennessee and Arkansas were some of the other notable programs to show early interest.
