Commitment announcement info released for 4-star TE with Maryland in Final 3

Information regarding the commitment announcement of 4-star tight end Javonte Vereen has been released.
Vereen, who is down to Maryland, Louisville and North Carolina State has his finalists, will make his decision on Friday, April 1 at 1:30 p.m. ET. It will be aired live on CBS Sports HQ and 247Sports.
Vereen is a 6-foot-4, 205-pound tight end out of North Carolina. He ranks as the No. 335 overall prospect in the class and the No. 17 player at his position for the 2023 recruiting cycle. More than a dozen schools extended an offer.
At the high school level in 2021, Vereen proved to be a dominant force as a two-way player. Offensively, he totaled more than 1,000 yards and had 15 touchdown catches. Defensively, Vereen piled up 45 tackles, 4 stops for loss, 2 interceptions and forced 2 fumbles.

Maryland currently has just two verbal commitments in the 2023 recruiting class. 3-star wide receiver Nasir Addison and 3-star quarterback Robert Long are both out of New Jersey.
