Name, Image, and Likeness continues to be a key issue across college athletics. UCF will be taking that to a new level for the Knights’ annual spring game.
On Friday, UCF revealed unique jerseys for the spring game. Those jerseys will feature a QR code on the back of each player’s uniform.
According to the release, accessing the QR code will link to the player’s school bio with links to their social media accounts, merchandise stores and charities.

This is an example of where the QR code goes.
The bigger thing here might be that UCF put players’ merch stores in their official school bios. pic.twitter.com/646IRdOfGW

The idea is an interesting one, to say the least. Social media had an expected amount of fun discussing the endeavor.
Every announcer everywhere immediately calls, “Not it!”.

“hey stop running around, let me snag that QR code real quick.”

“Is that a streaker?! Oh, no, it’s just someone trying to get close enough to actually access the QR code”

I don’t think @UCF_Football understands how QR codes work. One wrinkle in the jersey and these are pointless. If we can’t even scan them from these stationary photos in a studio, how could they ever be useful on field?
