Highlights from Ohio State’s spring game

Ohio State was on the field one final time this spring, playing in front of 60,000 fans at The Horseshoe on Saturday for the annual spring game.

Saturday’s scrimmage wasn’t a traditional spring game, as the Buckeyes pit the offense vs. defense because of a number of players who were unavailable. But that format allowed fans to get a good look of how both sides of the ball are progressing this spring.

Running backs Evan Pryor and Miyan Williams had some big runs, CJ Stroud and Jaxon Smith-Njigba appear to be in midseason form and tight ends Gee Scott Jr. and Joe Royer showed flashes offensively.

On the defensive side, freshman Kye Stokes looked really comfortable in the secondary, showing everyone why he was the first newcomer to shed his black stripe. Defensive end JT Tuimoloau posed some problems for the offensive line, too.

The offense defeated the defense 34-26 to put a bow on spring practice. Here are some of the highlights from Saturday’s scrimmage:
