Sevyn Banks, a two-year starter at cornerback for Ohio State, has announced his new school.

Banks will play in the SEC at LSU after he appeared in 8 games for the Buckeyes in 2021. The cornerback was credited with 8 tackles and a pass break-up during the year. A native of Orlando, Florida, Banks appeared in 36 games with 15 starts during his 4 years with the Buckeyes. He capped his career at Ohio State with 43 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, 13 passes defended and a pair of interceptions.

He was named honorable mention All-Big Ten honors in 2020 after he led the Buckeyes with 7 pass breakups and 8 passes defended.

In his announcement on social media, Banks said, “forever love buckeye nation it’s in me apart of me be what god has for me is bigger than anything.”

One of his best games for the Buckeyes may have been when he helped the Buckeyes reach the national championship game in 2020 with 4 tackles, 2 passes defended and an interception in Ohio State’s 49-28 win over Clemson in the national semifinals.
