An Ohio State defensive back has decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal. The decision comes just a week after the Buckeyes closed out their spring season.
Andre Turrentine, a former 4-star recruit and member of Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class, is exploring his options outside of Columbus. The news was first reported by On3.
Turrentine did not see any game action during the 2021 season, using the year as a redshirt season. He saw plenty of time on the field during the Buckeyes’ spring game earlier this month and was credited with 9 tackles.
A native of Nashville, Turrentine was listed as the No. 9 safety in the 2021 recruiting class and was the No. 169 overall prospect for the cycle.
Turrentine will leave Ohio State with all four years of eligibility remaining to use at his next destination.
