2022 NFL Draft: Iowa’s Tyler Linderbaum heading to Baltimore Ravens as 1st-round pick

Tyler Linderbaum is off the board, becoming the first interior lineman out of Iowa to become a first-round pick since Brandon Scherff in 2015.
Thursday night, Linderbaum was selected by the Baltimore Ravens with the No. 25 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. He becomes the rare center to get selected in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Linderbaum was widely regarded as one of the best offensive linemen in college football the past two seasons. He became a first-team All-B1G selection in 2020 and 2021 but this past season was his best.
After anchoring the Hawkeyes offensive line, Linderbaum was named a unanimous All-American, received the Rimington-Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year Award in the B1G and the Rimington Trophy as the best center nationally.
Though Iowa finished the 2021 season at 10-4 with losses in the B1G Championship and in the Citrus Bowl, Linderbaum left no doubt about his draft prospects down the stretch. He displayed his elite ability to block down the field in the bowl game and finished 2021 with the highest-graded run blocking season since 2016.
Now, Linderbaum will get his start in the NFL as a part of the protection plan for QB Lamar Jackson with the Ravens. He is also the highest pick for the Hawkeyes since Tristan Wirfs went No. 13 overall to Tampa Bay in 2020.
