Former Illinois guard Brandin Podziemski has reportedly found a new place to continue his college basketball career.
Antonio Curro of NY2LA Sports revealed on Friday that Porziemski has committed to continue his hoops career at Santa Clara. The guard entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal in mid-April, just a few weeks after the conclusion of the 2021-22 season.
The 6-foot-5 freshman guard spent just one season with the Fighting Illini before entering the portal. He appeared in 16 contests as a true freshman at Illinois.

Podziemski averaged 1.4 points and 0.9 rebounds during a year in which the Illini were B1G regular season champs. He scored a career-high 7 points twice, coming in back-to-back games against St. Francis (PA) and Missouri.
At Santa Clara, Podziemski will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Coming out of high school, Podziemski was a 4-star guard out of Wisconsin. He was ranked as the No. 109 overall prospect in the 2021 recruiting class and was considered a Top 30 shooting guard.
