A future Nebraska quarterback has turned some heads at a Rivals Camp event in Philadelphia.

Sunday, Rivals.com announced that William Watson, a quarterback prospect in the 2023 class, was named the QB MVP of the camp. A video was posted to Twitter to recognize the future Husker.

Watson, a Massachusetts native, committed to Nebraska in February 2022. He’s a 3-star prospect who was named the MaxPreps High School Football Player of the Year in Massachusetts in 2021.

Watson threw for 2,206 yards and 22 touchdowns at Springfield Central High School last fall. He also rushed for 590 yards and 7 touchdowns while leading his team to a 10-2 record.

Over the course of his 3-year career, Watson has thrown for 5,034 yards and 59 touchdowns with just 8 interceptions. He’s added 1,091 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on the ground, as well.

The 6-foot, 175-pound quarterback is ranked as the No. 37 quarterback in the 2023 class and is a Top 10 prospect from his home state. He picked Nebraska over offers from 10 other programs, including Arizona, Boston College, Kentucky, Michigan, Oregon, Pitt and Tennessee.
