Jacksonville State OC, former Michigan assistant suffers ‘serious’ heart attack, per report

Jacksonville State offensive coordinator Calvin Magee has suffered a “serious heart attack,” according to a report from The Anniston Star. He is currently Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center.
There were no other updates provided on Magee’s status at the time from the initial report. Action Network’s Brett McMurphy reported that a family friend said, “We’re praying for a miracle.”
Magee has been a college football coach for over two decades.

Magee started his college coaching career in 1996 at USF. He was there through the 2000 season and then took a job at West Virginia as the running backs coach, a position he held until 2006.
In 2005, Magee was named the offensive coordinator for the Mountaineers, retaining his status as the running backs coach, as well. In 2007, he added associate head coach to his titles.
Magee followed Rich Rodriguez to Michigan in 2008, where he spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator and running backs coach.
Since his time in Ann Arbor, Magee has also had stops at Pitt, Arizona, New Mexico, Ole Miss, Duke and Jacksonville State.
