Wisconsin had a slam dunk on the recruiting trail on Tuesday.

The Badgers received a verbal commitment from in-state 4-star forward/center Gus Yalden on Tuesday. He’s listed as the No. 126 overall prospect in the 2023 class, per the 247Sports composite rankings and is tabbed as a Top 5 player out of Wisconsin.

Yalden announced his decision with a post on Twitter. He becomes the second player of the cycle to verbally commit to the Badgers, joining combo guard John Blackwell from Michigan.

Yalden’s announcement comes just two weeks after taking an official visit to Wisconsin. It was a big decision for the 6-foot-9 forward, who has received over two dozen offers on the recruiting front.

Wisconsin beat out several B1G programs for Yalden’s pledge, including Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Nebraska and Rutgers. Other schools to offer included Arkansas, Auburn, Butler, Florida State, Marquette, Missouri and Oklahoma.

With Yalden’s commitment, Wisconsin’s 2023 recruiting class now ranks 17th nationally, per the 247Sports composite score. You can view some of Yalden’s highlights on 247Sports.com.
