Ohio State poked fun at media outlets for repeatedly misidentifying Marshon Lattimore

There are two important details about Marshon Lattimore worth knowing.

One is that the former Ohio State cornerback is projected as one of the top prospects in the 2017 NFL draft. The other is that Lattimore is not former Buckeye linebacker Raekwon McMillan.

McMillan, as a true freshman in 2014-15, wore No. 2. Lattimore, on the other hand, redshirted that year. Lattimore later switched to No. 2, and McMillan later switched to No. 5.

For whatever reason, NFL Network, NFL.com and others continue to use pictures of McMillan from the 2014-15 College Football Playoff National Championship and incorrectly identify him as Lattimore:

So finally, Ohio State decided to take matters into its own hands. The Buckeyes made light of the situation by offering up several pictures of Marshon Lattimore, and not Raekwon McMillan from 2014-15.

Everyone mistakes, but it’s odd to see a possible top-five pick continuously get misidentified. Lattimore was an All-American in 2016, and surely, there are plenty of gallery pictures of him to use.

Perhaps OSU’s subtle message will stop media outlets from making the same mistake.
