Drew Viotto committed to Eastern Michigan back in February but a recent offer from Minnesota had the 3-star quarterback in 2023 rethinking his options. Now, he wants to be a Gopher.
Viotto announced on Twitter earlier this week his decision to decommit from EMU, re-opening his recruitment. Two days later, the quarterback announced his commitment to the Golden Gophers.
Minnesota was the third Power 5 program to offer Viotto and the ninth FBS team.

Along with Eastern Michigan, Minnesota also beat out Maryland, Syracuse, Buffalo, Bowling Green and others for Viotto’s pledge. He becomes the eighth player of the 2023 class to commit to the Gophers.
Minnesota currently owns the nation’s No. 18 class, per 247Sports.
Viotto is listed as a 6-foot-4, 215-pound quarterback out of Walled Lake, Mich. He ranks as the No. 54 quarterback of the recruiting cycle and is a Top 20 overall prospect from his home state.
During the 2021 season at Walled Lake Western High School, Viotto threw for 1,944 yards and 22 touchdowns.
