With 2 outs and facing an 0-2 count in the top of the 9th inning, Iowa’s Izaya Fullard came up with a clutch hit which brought the game-winning run across home plate.
Iowa defeated Purdue 5-4 on Day 2 of the B1G Tournament, keeping their hopes alive of an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The game’s winning run was knocked in by Fullard, giving the Hawkeyes a 5-4 advantage in the final inning.
Purdue was able to get a runner across home plate in the bottom half of the inning, leading to an Iowa victory. The Boilermakers’ season came to an end, suffering a 10-3 loss to Rutgers on Thursday.

Iowa is now 1-1 in the B1G Tournament after losing to Penn State on Thursday. The Hawkeyes will play the loser of Game 6 on Saturday at 10 a.m. ET from Charles Schwab Stadium.
Game 6 will feature Penn State and Rutgers.
