Not many Division I schools accomplished what Michigan did during the 2021-22 athletic calendar. In fact, just two other programs can say they achieved the same impressive goal.
After defeating Iowa and Rutgers on Sunday, Michigan claimed the B1G Baseball Tournament championship, securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament. The Wolverines were one of just three teams to win their conference championship in both football and baseball.
The other two? Kennesaw State and Louisiana. Michigan is the only Power 5 program to accomplish the goal. Louisiana’s football program competes at the G5 level while Kennesaw State plays in the FCS.

Michigan’s football squad won its first B1G title under Jim Harbaugh and earned a trip to its first College Football Playoff. The Wolverines closed out the year with a 12-2 record.
On the diamond, Michigan struggled at times throughout the year but got hot in the tournament. The Wolverines will head into the postseason with a 32-26 record.
