Trey McGowens will not use his extra year of eligibility at Nebraska.

Tuesday evening, the Huskers revealed in a release that McGowens will be keeping his name in the 2022 NBA Draft after two seasons at Nebraska. He appeared in 17 games (16 starts) this past season while averaging 6.8 points and shooting 37% from 3-point range.

“Trey has decided to stay in the draft and embark on a professional career,” head coach Fred Hoiberg said via release. “He has meant a lot to this program over the past two seasons, and his toughness in coming back from injury strengthened our team down the stretch.”

Listed at 6-foot-4 and 196 lbs., McGowens appeared in 110 games in his college career across stints at Pittsburgh and Nebraska. Unfortunately, injuries limited his production and playing time during the 2021-22 season.

McGowens finished his time in college with career averages of 10.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals while shooting 39% from the field.
